Peter Buciak shock
I have four shocks with Ford Script on the covers. The patent number is 3613842. Looking that up, it was issued in Oct 1971, Shock cover has Made In Chicago, Ill. They look like originals and have some resistace left. Anyone know anything about these and are they rebuilbale?

Re: Peter Buciak shock
I purchased a set of shocks from Pete in the mid 80's and installed them on my Tudor sedan. They began leaking almost immediately. I contacted Pete and was offered no refund, extra fluid. I felt I found a rare bad apple in the Model A world and avoided Pete ever after.

According to Pete's ad, he offered a 3 year replacement guarantee, of course my second set was purchased following his death. Both sets that I have are still sitting unused, I did disassemble one for the photos provided on one of the links. Mine have been leaking just sitting on the shelf. Here is a copy of his ad from Cars & Parts Magazine. Darryl in Fairbanks |
