Default Body to frame question

I’ve set the body back on the frame of my ‘29 Tudor. I’m wondering what the final clearance between the body and frame should be once everything is bolted down and tight. Currently the body is just sitting on the blocks, but I have about a half inch of clearance pretty much all the way around. Also, should there be a rubber pad on the stands on the rear bumper brackets? Thanks in advance for any help.

dean;
first off you should have a roll of body to frame webbing 1-1//2 x 1 / 16" 20' roll they have original and heavy duty 20' roll .

I'm assuming that you have all of the blocks of wood to set the car onto the frame.

And then you need to buy the set of body to frame mounting bolt set as those are the exact bolts for your car.

And each wood block of wood has a piece of rubber under it.

And for the rear bumper I'm not for sure but I do think there's a piece of rubber that goes between the bumper stands to keep them from making noise

As my car is all apart right now and I can't remember if there was rebber there or not but I do believe there was a piece there as the stands are wide enough for a piece of rubber to be there

Reggie, all of those parts you mentioned are in place, but it seems a couple of blocks are too thick or not positioned correctly. I’ll lift the body and try to figure out what’s happening . I’m just wondering what kind of spacing I’m trying to achieve. Thanks for your response

The answer to that question is NO.

The body blocks & their rubber pads setup the clearance between the running board aprons and body. I strive to get a clearance of 0.25" after shimming the body for alignment.

Thanks for all of the help. Here’s what I found and corrected. The guy that put the body on last week had rubber pads on the rear bumper bracket stands and the long transverse wood block near the doors was upside down. All good now. Oh ya, that body guy was me.
Merry Christmas !!

Hope it all works out for you as I have a car that is in pieces also, but I have books that will tell me how to put it all together I hope anyway.

But my car is a Late 31 Deluxe Tudor I've had it for years

Best of Luck
Merry Christmas
