Mel Gross does a nice job on the F100 conversions. I have one in the sedan and it works quite well.

Here are a couple of shots of my Mel Gross F-100 boxes. He did a custom conversion for a '31 FIBERGLASS chopped sedan delivery. The other one is in my '29 CCPU using the stock column with the levers and without the pod at the bottom for lights and horn.

Not trying to stir the pot but, what is involved to covert a F100 box. I'm thinking that other then the controls in the center the length and outside collar is the only difference?. I could shorten a F100 shaft and use a '28 collar if I wasn't going to use the throttle/spark controls.......is this correct?

If you buy one of the kits from Dave or Mel, it's just a bolt-in. Nothing else to do.

I have 2 F100 boxes, the column in my '28 is chrome and it has been set-up for a vega box. I would like to put an old style box back on but keep the stock column and it's going to see LOTS of miles so the F100 box would be great.

I believe besides the length, there also has to be a "wedge" machined so box sits correctly when bolted to the frame. Tardel's website might have some info.
