Lawson,, If the generator is just for static display on your non running 60 hp V8 then why does it have to be rebuilt or repaired ? Just paint it black and mount it on the engine. Regards, Kevin.

Would it not be better to say what parts you need? Seem to be beating around the bush

Sorry for being so non specific. I need the band that goes around the back of the generator and covers the ventilation holes. My generator is missing that band. I want the original look. Thanks.

there are two different bands:
18-10142 for the 4 17/32 diameter

78-10142 for the 4 13/16 diameter
Any of the generators with the narrow vent slots (2 brush) do not use a cover it is just the wide slot generators.
I see Bratton's has a 29-31 Ford cover in their catalog

Check with Carpenter NOS.

Thanks Terry. Yes, just the ones with wide slots. I have found the right band on eBay.

I spoke with a salesman with Carpenter a few days ago. No more NOS parts being sold by Carpenter. All NOS parts are locked up tighter than Dick's hatband in a separate building. No one in charge. Jonesy is no longer there. Sad thing.

I find my engine has aftermarket non script heads. Any idea where I might be able to obtain a pair? No need to be serviceable, just look good from the top sides. I'm just building a display engine.

I'm afraid the guys on Fordbarn may be getting tired of hearing from me so often. Probably half of them think I am crazy. Well, I will be first to agree I'm half crazy. LOL

Merry Christmas.

I was looking for a couple of the 18- bands and called all the usual suppliers and looked on ebay without any luck. The band for the starter motor has the semi-circular cut out for the battery cable terminal, the generator band is without the cut out.
