The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
I believe that a majority of Ford Barners would be Members of The Early Ford V8 Club of America, but some are unaware of this great global club. They produce the Award Winning Magazine V8 Times six times a year, and have just added a Digital Copy for Members that pay for the Printed Copy of V8 Times. The above illustrations are too small to copy, but you can print out a copy from their Web Site. If you are not a Member of The Early Ford V8 Club of America, I would encourage you to become a Member. For more information, click on to the attached Links. Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Trevor,
As noted on the form, a digital copy of the magazine only membership is also available for US$ 30, which avoids the increasingly expensive postage cost of the printed version, especially for members outside of the U.S.. |

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Before you guys start with stuff like I get enough magazines or it's too much money, think of this as a donation to the club that supports the hobby. You get fun reading and if you choose to become an active member and attend a national meet then you'll find out how much fun you get for your dollar.
I've met some of the best people from all over the country and a few places down under as well. 5 years ago I was totally down and out emotionally for a variety of reasons. John Mason called me from out of the blue and invited me to TROG in Pismo Beach and the Western Meet in Bakersfield. We had the time of out life and better therapy than any couch could give me.

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Thanks Trevor.
And may I add...............that if you go to the site earlyfordv8.org and then click on Current News from the left column menu, you will see an explanation of how to join and get the digital version of the magazine. Please note that the printed version membership is still an option and is not going away. Great opporitunity to become a member without having to worry about exchange rates and delivery problems. |

If I want the printed version where would I get that? I still like the tactile versions also.

Tinker, join the club and the print version is included in your membership. I also get several old car magazines and the V8 Times is the top contender. Good articles, lots of information and pictures and the book sized format is really nice.

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Tinker, the form shown above (for USA applicants) will give you the option to get the printed version of the V-8 Times at a membership cost of $35.00/yr. If you just want the digital version, membership cost is $30.00/yr. If you apply for the $35.00 membership you can also access the digital version.

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
I used to rat-hole my V8 Times issues away but I decided to share them a few years ago. Now, I read (and enjoy) each issue and then pass it to a friend. He does the same and passes it to his son. His son passes it on too. When I need to find an article, I can do it on line instead of digging thru stacks of paper.

Belonging to the Early Ford V8 Club has lots of advantages. You can join in on the monthly V8 Club Runs, and if you run into trouble, there is always someone there to help sort out the problem. |

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
As I let my subcription slide to the V8 Times slide this year I'm inquiring as to whether the cover for the May/June issue showing a'40 Ford wagon is the real cover?
The background appears to be the northern Ca/ Oregon coast. Was there a story behind this wagon featured between the covers? Just askin' Bill |

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Bill,
Yes, that is the real cover. There was a very interesting story about the new owner of the car who purchased it in Monterey, drove along the California coast, then drove all the way home to Virginia. It details all the problems you might find in a car that hadn't been driven in years. That one story was worth the price of the V-8 Times subscription. Ken

Not a subscriber or member yet. But my friend John K. has given me several of these books and I have looked at just about every page. The ragged ol' truck with the 4 banger is in the right vintage, but those shiny V8 Fords all look super sharp! I do enjoy the articles. My first memories of a car was my grandparents late 40's Ford 2 door sedan, kind of a flesh color, wasn't too fancy. I must have been about 3 or 4 years old. Regards, Chris

Chris,
The scope of the Club includes the '32-'34 fours (and later fours and sixes, as well), but then you know that given that you have a copy of the Club's 1932 book. |

Bill;
See that you list Nova Scotia on you avitar. If you are still wanting to look at the V-8 TIMES, I suggest that you look into the NEW digital magazine membership. $30 US for anyone -- in Canada, Great Britain, Japan, or the USA. All you need is a credit card. No more high subscription rates for members outside of the USA. That, by the way, is the reason for this original posting by Mercman From Oz. |

I have been a member of the EFV8 Club since it began in California in the early '70's.
From time to time I have let my membership lapse for no good reason. Time to renew again.

A memory stick with all the issues of the Early Ford V8 Times from July/August 1965 to the end of 2017 is available from the Early Ford V8 club. It takes up much less space than magazines.

There's a digital-copy-only membership option now available as well which avoids the ever-increasing cost of mailing the hard copies outside of the U.S. for $30 (US).

The magazine is worth the membership fee, but that doesn't even start to compare to the good times to be had at the national meets and tours. i have driven my '50 Rouge sedan in all lower 48 states since 2013, and without this club, I may not have gotten into more than 5.

How good is this Double Cover shot on the November/December 1990 issue of V8 Times, showing a group display of Early Ford V8's at a National Meet in Charlotte. You only have a few days left before Christmas to purchase that Gift Membership to the Early Ford V8 Club of America. It is a great Club to belong to. Why not join up today? |

I believe the photo is ALL 1940 Ford Motor Company vehicles. It was the 50th Anniversary of the 1940 and was the theme of the Meet.
I am pretty sure that a gentleman by the name of Dennis Carpenter, had something to do with it. |

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Thanks for posting the link. I've been looking through the magazine and see that the cars appear to be stock. My '38 retains the original 85 HP drivetrain but it is hopped up a little bit with a rebuild, dual 97 Strombergs and a few modern upgrades like electric fan, fuel pump and distributor.
I'm interested in joining but wonder if my '38 would be welcomed at the events or if it's more for stock vehicles. What do the more knowledgeable owners say? Thanks in advance. ~Pat |

A definition of a Club is a group of people who get together with a common interest. No where does it say that you have to own anything. Now, with that said, I can tell you that if you decide to join (and we hope you do) that you will not be the only one who has worked on their vehicle to make it their own. There are many others who also have made upgrades to their Ford vehicles that are members. The Club has recognized that and has added the Touring, Touring A and Display classes for those such vehicles. While the premise of the Club is to "preserve and authentically maintain vehicles manufactured by the Ford Motor Company for the model years 1932 through 1953 inclusive (and 1954 for Canadian), and to serve as an accurate and technical source of information concerning these automobiles for the benefit of its members as well as the general public" the Club has adapted to those that want to make some changes. Hope this clarifies your inquiry. And as others will say -- it's the best magazine anywhere and worth the price of membership. Happy Holidays! |

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
Beginning to wonder if it is worthwhile still being an overseas member of the EFV8CLUB USA., The cost to me is at least double that of USA members. I still dont have my paper copy of the NOV/DEC 2021 issue of the magazine at it is now mid January 2022. Yes I have seen the electronic copy but would much rather read the REAL copy. Regards, Kevin.

Re: The Early Ford V8 Club of America - Application Form.
The above Cover Shot of the Jan/Feb 2022 Issue of V8 Times is from Australia. For those that are not familiar with the three later model Fords in the picture, the centre car is a British Ford Escort, while the ones on either side are Australian AU series Ford Falcons, similar to this one. As I can't see the whole cars, they could be the same model Utility. The AU Falcons were introduced in 1998 and were replaced by the updated BA Series in 2002. |
