Default flathead competition

We had our first run for a long time with the dragster on sat night,we had our new Racepak data logger going,it is a real help.(pulled 2.2 Gs off the line)
We were in the towup lane next to a nitro car, we spoke about the difference in our engines and how ours had twin plugs and a small blower,
in the burnout his blew a conrod out the side,he said the repair cost would be around $30K,poor bugger.
the flathead ran good all night and we were happy to be back using it again,
leakdown test this morning showed the worst cyl at 8% and all others around 3-5%.
Also the local paper did a full page article on our car.

Buy some nitro. Have some fun. Ask the guy in the other lane how much fun he is having today.

Not too shabby for an old lump of pig-iron that was engineered 80 years ago! LOVE IT!

I know Lawrie was running 140mph in the quarter, Can't remember the time. I think that engine is only 276CI, is that right Lawrie?

Wow, that's awesome! If those times are correct, you're moving along pretty good in that FED. Especially one that is FH powered. Have at it!

Walt is right, best time has been a 9.3 at 140 mph.the engine is 276,with the 4/71.
We sure enjoy running the dragster, its a good family day out ,Wife Carol makes the dinner and lunch, brother cooks on the BBQ,youngest son drives, other son drives the tow cars, his wife makes the best scones and cream.
We normally have two cars at the strip,My brother runs an old Comodor, but he is in the process of fitting a nascar engine to it,that will liven it up some.
We are going to make a new engine and chassis to get the weight down and be able to as my boys say lean on the engine, but have been too busy travelling around,(trying to catch Ol henry).

From one fast blown flathead racer to another your doing great with your combination.
I love the small cube motors and the 471 blower.
