Default Castor angle

Does anyone have a formula for castor measurements . Les Andrews book says at 11in difference of 1in is . 09 or 5.1deg.
Mine is at 12in and a difference if 1.5 in or 0.125
I'm thinking around 7degrees??

Yes, the arc tangent of 1.5/12 is 7.13 degrees.

Just by a angled scaled magnetic protractor from your local lumberyard and stick it to the axle and read the °’s

7º of caster is quite a bit. They are originally set for 5º which is still quite a bit.
The car will still probably track well at speed, but, the steering wheel probably will not want to return very well on its own during a slow turn.

its an old hotrodder trick, the more caster or king pin inclination the less steering effort you have, add enough it will feel like power steering, till it dives into a turn..

You may want to rethink that.

Hmm. The action of caster lifts the sprung weight up as the wheels turn if I am not mistaken. I often am!!
This should give heavier steering and more self-centreing action,

5 deg.measured per post 4 at the axle ends next to the king pins. The axle in the middle may be different due to age, etc.
