Re: Rajah crimper
no instructions, but i have the same tool. never actually used it on a real rajah, but on modern ends i have to move it around a bit to make some small crimps to see that its starting to curl like i want, then give er the big squish

Re: Rajah crimper
I don't have instructions, but I have them and used them multiple times on solid core wire. I cut the wire off the spool with the cutters down low, then use the tip to strip the insulation off the wire. You'll notice it has a step there where to stop so it strips the same amount each time. I like to drill a small hole in the new terminals so I can pull the solid core through the terminal, then crimp it with the crimper. I like to spin the tool around 180 and crimp it again for a good connection. Get some extra terminals and practice before you make finished wires with it and you'll be good.

Re: Rajah crimper
Thanks for the photo and instructions. I have a Rajah crimper exactly like the one pictured that I had no idea what it actually was or where I got it from. Probably a yard sale. It was on the bottom of the tool box with the pry bars and hack saws. Anyway, now that I know what it is it now lives with the other electrical crimpers.

Re: Rajah crimper
Rajah terminals are something new to me. I see them on the Brillman site, but no pic there of one properly crimped. Can someone post a picture of an installed Rajah?

Re: Rajah crimper
These are made by Rajah but are not needed to install Rajah terminals. Though you could still use this to prep the wire if you choose. This tool's real claim to fame is that it crimps on standard plug wire terminals.

Re: Rajah crimper
I can post a photo. They use a twist lock or screw on type of method to secure them to the wire.

Re: Rajah crimper
That tool works perfectly for wire ends on Mercedes of the 80s,90s, strips the wire, crimps the end to wire, and crimps to the insulation--- I never figured what terminal it crimped in the 30s

Re: Rajah crimper
Thanks. So now I understand that the Rajah spark plug terminal that Tubman recommends is screw on. The crimping tool discussed in this thread is made by Rajah, but not for those screw on terminals.

Re: Rajah crimper
Yep, that's the story. They were quite the Hot Rod thing in the 50s & 60s. Along with Packard 440 wire.

Re: Rajah crimper
Thought those crimpers were for oil burner igniter terminals.

Re: Rajah crimper
Just found on hanging on my wall that I have had for 40 years and did not know what it was. That's why I never throw stuff away.
