Default Removing thermostats.

I have heard two different stories regarding the removal of stats during hot weather .Will removing stats cool down the temp or make it higher ?Let's hear some thoughts on this topic.I talking about engine temperature ,not outside temperature, lol

Personally I wouldn't remove the thermostat, Without it the engine warms unevenly. As for running cooler or hotter that's pretty much a 50/50 split I've seen engines go in either direction without one. Also debris can move freer between engine and radiator.

I run a 160 stat in the Y block, SS washers with a 5/8 hole in the flathead. They both run right where I want them.

Do not remove--The engine will run best and last longer with actual water jacket temperature in to 200-205 range
