Default Ford Blocks 24 Stud 59, 69 and 79

I recently acquired a batch of flathead blocks, 3 of which are stamped on the bellhousing in raised letters "59", "69" and "79" respectively. On my reading of earlier forum threads I believe the "9" signifies 239c.i. and I thought the 5,6,7 represented the post WW11 war years. Am I correct in these assumptions? Thanks David

This needs to be asked on the Early V8 forum which cover up to 1953, the flat head era. If the engines are 1954 (overhead valve) up the late V8 would be the section to ask in. This section is for questions about the site not car questions.
