Back the nuts off 3-4 turns and hit the starter. Heads should pop loose.

Might want to verify that you don't have to replace the bottom row of head studs. Some aluminum heads are thicker on the bottom requiring it. If you think removing the head is fun. heads studs can really be fun.

I would rather have original ford cast iron over aftermarket aluminum. Which everyone that knows flatheads would know they aren't original, usually.
