Default Oil Pan Bendix cover/starter cover

Is there a trick to removing the cover from the pan, does it just come free once the pan is removed from the block? Does the cover need to be cut some how out of the pan? I don't have one and need one and a fella on the barn has one for me but asked for help on how to remove, and since I've never seen it installed, I don't know the answer and don't want it destroyed trying to get it out, to get the whole pan, is expensive on the shipping side, when I only need the cover.

I you want it all to look and feel correct, bite the bullet and get a whole oil pan. Those cups were crimped into place. There is a rolled lip. There is no good way to remove one without damaging it. If you are buildind a hot rod/non-stock type motor, just fab your own cup and weld it into place.

I had an old rusted out/dented up oil pan that still had a good Bendix cover attached. Being one who hates to throw anything away that can still possibly be used, I found some way to carefully remove that cover. I cleaned it up and shot it with some rattle can primer. Put it on my table at Hershey and sold it the first day of the meet. I don't think anyone makes this specific part but like Mac mentions, would not be that difficult to make something that would work.
