Default Adding the Body

Hey Guy's

I have finished a complete chassis restore and the car is now back into a rolling chassis, less radiator, steering column and pedals and I have a couple of questions.

A) Should I leave the body off to get the majority of the brake adjustments done first, or should I just install the body now without the belt-line tin's and then sort out the brake's?

B) After a complete chassis rebuild, some electrical work and a new distributor, is it easier to get a finished running chassis with the body on or off?

Regards
Bill

I would leave the body off and do all the mechanicals and wiring you can while access is easy, beats crawling up and down under the car.
You've come this far, don't rush and make it harder on yourself.
Just my humble opinion

Thinking out loud, will the body installed after brakes are adjusted then cause the adjustments to become out of adjustment? Weight on the springs pushing or pulling on the rods, I’ve read that brake rods should be adjusted with the wheels on the ground. If adjusted on jack stands the brakes will be too tight when the car is back on the ground!

Big hammer,

The car roll's on her tires, I was just wondering if I was going to jump the gun by adding the body, or just procrastinating.

Regards
Bill
