Yes, that is a nice picture.

Is it the lighting, or is the gas tank a darker color than the hood?

It's the lighting. Car was last painted in the 50's so paint is kind of poor. The hood louvers were peeling bad so painted them black. I like the patina look but eventually will need new roof material and paint.
