model b zenith carburetor advice
Hi everybody
I just broke the idle needle in my model b carburetor and wonder how to change. I am a beginner... Can i just pull it? Is it a good idea to drill a screw for better halt? Can anybody get me some instructios, please? greetings from overseas |

Re: model b zenith carburetor advice
What is broken here is not part of the idle system. It is the power port tube and is a press fit into the casting. You may be able to simply pull it out with a needle-nose pliers. If not, the remaining piece may be removed using a 0.125 inch or 3mm drill bit after being careful to have the bit centered in the tube before drilling it out.
The Model B carburetor will still be functional without the tube but it will be lacking the power jet feature which is a primitive version of the accelerator pump feature found on newer carburetors. |

Another option is to thread the part and insert a screw to pull it out. Try a 4-40 screw but if that does not work some other size.
