Default Was pinstriping on a 32 optional?

In the 32 book paint section, it gives the impression all cars had pin-striping(although it is clear you did not have a choice in color). I could have sworn I read somewhere that some black cars did not come with pin-striping?

It was optional at extra cost on commercial vehicles and big trucks, but standard on all passenger cars.
