Default which bearing

I'm putting 1940 ford rear backing plates and drums / hubs on my 31 model a , what hub bearing do I use ?

Not sure what your asking me ? Can I use the same bearing as was in my model a hub , or do I need the 40 ford bearing , or are they the same ?

I would get the correct bearing for a 40 ford hub.

V8 bearing up to 1948 is is the one to use. Model A bearing will not fit the 40 Ford Hub.

You will need Ford part # 68-1225 or equivalent bearing, used in rear hubs from late 1936 through 1948.

Avoid reproduction bearings as their quality is very questionable. Even used Genuine Ford
1940 Ford bearings would be better.
