Default Wheel color

My ‘34 cabriolet has yellow wheels. They were painted this color when I bought the car a couple of years ago.

Was this the original factory color? It seems like a lot of the older photographs I see, appear to be dark colored. What was the factory color for the 1934 delux spoke wheels?

They might be Tacoma Cream, sort of a light yellow.

There were also color names like wheat and straw.
My ‘33 Tudor had that color wheels with black body when it was new.
Got it from my uncle when it was 18 years old.
I painted them RED!

Thanks guys. I guess I’ll just leave them “cream yellow”. I was thinking of black but I guess that wasn’t a color option for 1934.

You might consider powder coating. An easy colour to match.

Originally in U.S. production, in addition to black, which was the wheel color on the standard model '34 passenger cars, there were three wheel colors used on the deluxe models which were dictated by the body color. Those three wheel colors were Tacoma cream, Cordoba gray, and Vineyard green.

The wheel color from the factory depends on the exterior color of the car. The EFV-8 C/A 1933-1934 Book lists the correct color combos for wheels and body color for your car.
