Default 32 Throttle Rod Connection to Gas Pedal

Hi - It appears that my throttle rod attaches to a bell crank on the inside of my Cabriolet firewall. From there, a shorter rod goes from that bell crank down to the gas pedal. I haven't seen any discussion or pictures on this configuration or any reference to the shorter rod in the supplier's offerings. Is this a correct understanding of what I have? As always, I appreciate anyone's thoughts.

Thanks, Dick

Yes there is a rod that connects the bell crank to the gas pedal. That rod may be difficult to find.

Dick,

I was unable to find the rod you are talking about 40 years ago on my '32 roadster. I took a rod from a Model A (I don't remember if it was original or good reproduction but it looked correct), cut it to length and had it butt welded back together. I think it was the Model A rod that controlled the spark advance (and I may have needed to cut two of them. I dressed the surface with a file and painted it silver. I then installed it with the cut part at the top where it was not visible.

Here are a couple of pictures of the rod that connects to the throttle bell crank and the gas pedal. The B and Model 18 rods are probably identical in length. If not, an expert will correct me. Only thing not available is the length of the rod but that should be easy to determine if you already have the bell crank.

The ones in the photos look correct, except that they were originally straight, not bent. Sorry, I don't have the length dimension handy.
