Default 33-34 Sound Deadening Cloth Materials

I'm in the first stages of reassembling interior parts in a freshly painted body. I'm wondering about the cloth materials Ford used in between the wood to wood and wood to metal pieces. For example, when I removed the header bows that screw to the wooden frame around the doors, I removed what looks like a lightly oiled thin canvas material which I presume was used for sound deadening purposes. There are other places where cloth materials were used in between fastened parts-like in between the wooden rear window frame and metal body.

Does any one know the kind of material used and can the materials be purchased through an auto upholstery business?

Thank you

It could be. The fabric I was trying to describe to have an oil base to it or I'm sure it would have deteriorated badly over the years. In some spots I've actually been able to salvage a few of the pieces and reuse them apply a bit of weatherstrip adhesive to secure in place. I'll Google oil cloth and see if I can learn more. Thanks for your comment.

Back in the day we used to use oil cloth to cover the "eating table". We tacked it around the edge with upholstery tacks with a fancy head. The oil cloth came in an assortment of patterns. It was a big affair when it was time to replace the worn oil cloth, kids around the whole table, pulling the tacks out. Don't remember much about the life span of the oil cloth, but it lasted along time. Something you don't hear of nowadays.
