Default Time to start!

It is time to start cutting the new 8BA block tooling. I have a lot going on, but the CNC machine I cut patterns on is empty and I can start making the prototype pattern equipment.

It looks like my whole year and some more is set for machining work so I will have to fit it in as I can, but there is no reason not to get started asap.

From the trouble the guy I just sold an engine to had, your timing seems to be pretty good.

I'm in the process of filling the water jacket area around the intake ports of a 59 block. This will allow me to reshape the port for better flow. something you should consider. I leave the water jacket under the port to aid in cooling the exhaust port. Also be nice if the deck was a little thicker. adding 10 lbs of metal in the right places, would make the block virtually indestructible.

Listen to Ole' Ron on the deck thickness and removing the water around the intake - could make a much better flowing port. I'd also increase the thickness of the main webbing areas down by the crank mains - put some more strength to help with higher horsepower situations. Also, no reason to keep the oil pan rails so darn thin - put some more material in the bottom area. Anyway, very excited to see you moving forward on this project - can't wait to see the results!

Now - if you could please make an aluminum one with high-quality liners . . . about a 3 7/16 bore please! Say it's true . . . say it's true! LOL
