Default Hydraulic brake adjustment bendix type

Hello, recently bought a 1931 Roadster with what is apparently has the bendix hydraulic conversion kit.Need to know as scored of replacement parts and Wheel adjustments . I know on 1940,s Buick
you adjust brakes out until they lockup the drum and then back off 14 clicks. Thanks in advance, Gary

I have hydraulics and i lock them then back off enough that they make a soft scuffing noise as I rotate the tiire. I try to get the same sound out of each, also feel that there is ever so slight of drag over the shoes, and that all the wheels will have about the same drag. I usually end up where the wheel will spin a full revolution or two before stopping with an easy pull. With new shoes, correctly centered and ground to fit the drums I tend to try for three of four revolutions of each tire with a like amount of pull to get it moving. 16 clicks seems a bit loose to me, though it may work for you. Some tell me they adjust the brakes with the tire on the ground, adjust until they can move the car back and forth with one hand and feel a little drag, then back off several clicks, counting them. until there is no drag and to to the next wheel. After going around the whole car go back and tighten the number of clicks you backed off. Got test the brakes on gravel or dirt road to see if it pulls or one wheel locks too soon, readjust as needed. Works for them, my way works for me.

10 clicks is the norm, however all wheels should turn easily. If your drums are a bit out-of-round you may need more. All wheels should be adjusted the same.
