Bolt size
Does anybody know the bolt size for the rear light brackets on a 39’ 1/2 ton truck? Mine are non existent and I’m wanting to run a tap to clean up the threads. Thanks

Re: Bolt size
Mine is a 41 and just has coarse self tappers. If there are little inserts my money would be on them being 1/4 UNC.
You could try a bolt gently and see if it wants to start. Mart. |

Re: Bolt size
I would start with a thread chaser. They can also be used to determine the thread size. If you purchase a set(s) keep in mind that they often come as a set of coarse and a set of fine threads. They are very handy when working on older cars.

Re: Bolt size
My '40 is 1/4 -20. I'd think '39 would be the same.
