Clings Master Cylinder
Recently I purchased a 1930 Ford Model A with older hydraulic brakes, and they work fine. The problem is that I want to restore the Car as good as I can, keeping the brakes in place, but removing the present master cylinder, and adding an 'invisible' Clings master cylinder.
Has anyone ever used Clings ? If so, may I ask for someone to post a photo of the installation ? Clings does not have a photo of the installed unit. Thanks |

Re: Clings Master Cylinder
Where is your existing master cylinder, on the firewall? You might do a little reading in the archives I tend to lean on the one that is attached to a beefed up battery box. Be sure to research in the archives and post the question to find who has the beefiest box out out there as some of them flex too much. I must admit that I don't have first hand experience with either.

Re: Clings Master Cylinder
Yes, my existing Master Cylinder is on the Firewall. ( ugh )
I hate it, but removing all present brake parts and going back to manual brakes will be costly, especially when the hydraulic brakes work well. I think that the best thing I can do is to put in a Clings master Cylinder with a stock brake pedal. |

Re: Clings Master Cylinder
A guy in our club recently installed this master cylinder to go with his Ansen brake conversion. I don't know who makes it but can find out tonight at the Club's Board (Bored) Meeting.

Re: Clings Master Cylinder
There is a very simple and inexpensive way to install a master cylinder using the A brake cross bar and an A brake rod. Too, it's easy to check the brake fluid. This photo also shows how the stock e-brake handle is installed with the Lokar cable kit.

Many thanks, Guys, that is exactly what I wanted to see.
I have already contacted Clings, they will be making these again soon. |

Re: Clings Master Cylinder
I don't have a photo, but I used Cling's install for many years before I switched to the F-150 transmission. All of his stuff is pricey but first rate. You will be pleased.

Re: Clings Master Cylinder
Guys, I talked to Dennis a couple months back. He is no longer offering the master cylinder kits, His son does the work and their aircraft business has gotten so busy they are not devoting time to that kit. He did not know if they would be available, when or if at all... a shame, as this seems to be the highest regarded kit.
