Default dust caps/ brake adjustment

I have a question about the dust caps located on the inside of the brakes. I'm puzzled on how to correctly attach them. Is there a simple method, or must they be pressed on by a C-Clamp before the emergency brakes are attached.

Any help on this issue is appreciated,

Jim M.

If you mean the small metal cap over the service brake adjustment, then I just tap the original cap back in place and with a screwdriver and hammer tap a few small metal folds over the edge.

If you use a new repro cap, then I find they are a little too large in diameter, so I grind them a little on the outside edge. Be sure to put some grease in the housing before you cap it, or you could also install grease through the adjustment link holes.
