replacement wood for woodie
does anyone know where I can get several pieces of wood that I need to replace in my 1940 Ford Woody. I need the side pieces to the top ,I guess would be called the header, that runs from the "A" pillar to the rear header...The drip edge and top attach to it ..Tried several companies but they either don't have patterns for that year or specialize in other years...

Re: replacement wood for woodie
I had some wood for my sedan delivery custom made by a guy in New Mexico. I recall he specialized in Woodies, not sure which years. PM me if you want and I will look up/send his contact information, etc.

Are you in the National Woodie Club? The Woodie Times lists several shops.
Stay away from the shop in Orange, Ca.

I would recommend the Kline Family Workshop in PA, 717-266-8696. They did several pieces for me and their work was beautiful.

Re: replacement wood for woodie
Also, to add what David has to say, don't expect the piece to just fall into place. Lots of fitting will be required. You are replacing one of the major components on your vehicle. Not only does it affect fitment of the doors, it also anchors the roof ribs.

Re: replacement wood for woodie
I just went onto the Treehouse Woods site www.woodiewood.com, 407-783-6781 and they list 1940 Ford Woodie bodies for $45,000 so they must be able to furnish what you need.
