centering e-brake pads
I've just replaced the e-brake pads on my '31. One side is centered perfectly, but the other is off enough that even with the band fully retracted to the stop, the pad drags. How is that adjusted?

Re: centering e-brake pads
Find another shoe that the lining is good but worn. Some of the replacement lining is quite thick and if the emergency portion of the drum has not been turned it will not retract enough to clear the drum. OR:
replace the carrier and grind the stops shorter but equal on both sides, this will allow the shoe to retract furthur; I really don't like to correct the problem in this manner !!!! |
