'31 S/W Town Sedan Interior Photos
I am restoring a 1931 S/W Town Sedan and am about 4 weeks away from installing the "Classtique" interior. When I purchased the car, the interior was "ripped" out. I have nothing to point out the subtle details of a correct installation.
Do any of you know of any online photo logs of original interiors or good restorations? If you do, it would be a great help to me if you would post a website or Link. Thanks all! Good Day! Clueless in Minnesota! Last edited by Dave in MN; 03-14-2018 at 04:49 PM. |

Re: '31 S/W Town Sedan Interior Photos
The revised MAFCA/MARC judging standards and the Model A ford Book by Henry, DeAngeles, at al. have good Sw sedan factory photos. Some original cars had 6 screws/cups for the front each cowl panel along with screws and cup washers for the door bottoms corners where there are holes. Also, the 4 door bottoms have the rubber sealing strips that the vendors sell and are installed on the back of the panels (some use staples for temp hold) and trim after installation on door. The loose fabric at the top of the door panels is tacked to the wood insert before the garnish is installed and sometimes the vendors' springs behind the window risers need trimming because they are too stiff to compress to get the handle pins in. Also, try installing in a warm area so that the fabric can be stretched a tad where its tacked so that wrinkles will not appear later during hot weather. Also, the door panels and rear quarters can be shifted slightly as necessary to align the tops of the bottom carpet inserts. Finally , position the bottom seat pleats to align with the seat back by trial fitting.

Here are some pics of a 31 Briggs Slant with Classtique interior installed about 2 months ago. Not sure if this is what you need.
