Editing posts before uploading
Does anyone know how to get posts to look right before you click the send message? I use an off-line word processor (MSWord) to write my stories. When I copy and paste them to the board they look right until I click the "Preview Post" button. Then a lot of the words run together making it look like I don't know how to type or proof read. Frustrating!

You can edit in the preview window.

MS Word may be adding hidden characters or formatting codes that confuse things.
Perhaps try a simple text editor, like Notepad. |

Re: Editing posts before uploading
When I am posting ads for items I am selling, I first write them in an email to myself, then edit and re-send them to myself until I'm satisfied that they read like I want them to. Then copy and paste the text to the Ford-Barn form. Essentially the same thing you are doing, but using Outlook email instead of MS Word. If you do it this way, then on the Ford-Barn form, you will still need to choose the font and font size if it is not the same that you used on your original typing.
Once you have entered your post, if it doesn't look correct, you always have the option of hitting the "edit" key and making an immediate correction before you move on. |

Re: Editing posts before uploading
I just tried Don Turley's suggestion to send my post about the leaking Zenith carb to myself in an email, then copy and paste it here. Worked like a charm!
Thanks, Don |

Re: Editing posts before uploading
You might like to use something like Note Pad in windows a simple word processor. This is a simple text editor that does not add all the MS Word character formatting information that most other word processors do not understand

It was way harder to edit back in the day...

Re: Editing posts before uploading
I agree. MS Word has all kinds of hidden characters and does not necessarily translate well to a forum such as this. Notepad generally does not have that issue.
