I had GREAT luck selling "A" parts. Started with a pickup load and sold 85% on Thursday, 14.5% on Friday and came home with a rear luggage rack and one SMALL box of unsold stuff on Friday afternoon. Slantwindshield

I agree that the prices were very good. Like mentioned above, there were many more empty spaces than I have seen for the last 5 or 6 years, partly probably because the increase in swap spaces prices and the entry fee hike to $18. There has to be a limit to how much they can jack you fees and still keep the swappers coming. I bought a very nice early 28 frame that looked a smooth as a babies butt. It has a small bend near the passenger side motor mount, but over all a very nice frame formerly owned by Dave Cella.

I was there looking for a 1939 transmission, 3 speed top loader or just a 28 tooth cluster gear. Did not have any luck. Found a couple transmissions, but I was to late, they were already sold. Still looking.

Yes, and I wish I could have been first to spot that frame. That was the bargain of the show. Joe also had two very nice Goodyear 21" tires that I was going to buy. I got distracted by the frame and looking at a few other things, and walked away without asking the tires price. I came back in a few minutes, but by then the tires were sold and gone for $25 each. I didn't see the large tent with book sales this year. They always had some great buys on car books.

Next year I'll need to start walking a couple miles each day for a week before the show, so I'll be in better shape. I did loose 6 pounds in three days, so that's a good thing.

Tom, I did find Darrel, but he did not have any 39 transmissions. Thanks for the lead though.

You could ask French Lake Auto Parts in Annandale, Minnesota about the tranny. They have several old cars in the yard. I don't have a phone number, but a Google search would bring it up.

Also try Coolie's in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as Keith Coolie has old cars in his junkyard.

I had a great time also. Was able to find some interesting original parts and one NOS Lt Frt Fender. I agree that the vender space price and entrance price are going to turn off a lot of people. Without venders the show will die. But on the bright side a lot of great people. Jim

Charlie
Chippewa Falls has a swap meet on Sunday, Aug 2nd. Coming up from Charlotte to get out of the heat. You should come to "AutoFair" in Charlotte, NC. The spring AutoFair is the largest swap meet in the US now. To much to cover in the time it runs. Still a fair amount of Model A parts, although they think they are worth three times what they are.
