Default 60 hp oil pan what is the difference

What is the difference between 37 and 40 pan. Will a 37 pan bolt on to a 40 block

No they are not interchangeable. '37-'39 rear seal is a slinger and the '40 is rope. The rear of the early pan has a large radius cut out and the '40 pan has a small cut out.
