question on '32 frame numbers, CBQ?
Hello all,
Thought this would be the best place to ask, Im trying to research the origins of an original set of '32 rails i purchased recently, would love an idea of where to look for reference on the net, or even better, someone on here who might Know the significance of 32 frame number prefixes. The last 32 I built had a C18FR prefix then 5 numbers, which I interpreted to be a RHD export chassis ,which makes sense as I'm in australia, and Believe the car was sold new here. The new Chassis I have bought has CBQ then four numbers, It is very clear and obviously the original stamps (they have a slight serif on the font that matches other early ford chassis nos I have in the shop.) anyone Know what CBQ means? where it was built? rhd? any info would be great. Thankyou fordbarn! |

Google is my friend
According to this link http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?p=630478 1932 Ford V-8 serial numbers in Canada began with *C18D-1* and ran up to* C18D-9999* and then switched over to *C18R-1* and they ran up to 8C18R-5973* 1932 Ford 4 Cylinder serial numbers in Canada started with *CBG-1* and ended with *CBG-5000*. The second series of 4 Cylinder serial numbers began with *CBQ-1* and ended with *CBQ-3999* |

U have a 4 banger!!
CBTF was another Canadian serial no. There is a 1932-34 4 cyl Group here on the Barn u could try. I don't know if there is a sequence to the 4 cyl nos. I would love to know if there is. Cheers, Manuel in Oz |
