Water pump installation
Does it matter if the new pump gaskets go on dry, with some grease on each side? What's everyone's take on installing new pumps and gaskets on a 59ab motor?

Re: Water pump installation
I've always done exactly what you suggest. Just start-out with CLEAN surfaces. DD

Re: Water pump installation
On mine, I made sure the area was clean and free of any previous gasket material. Afterwards, I applied a thin layer of Permatex 2 on both sides of the gasket. Steve
