Harry, no problem getting keepers back on. If you are using the two piece style I use a little bit of grease to help hold them to the stem while I'm using the valve/spring compressor to release. Just take your time and careful and I'm sure all will go well. Worst case you have to pull something but I think you should be fine.

Larry s method works well and I have used it with original style valves and keepers
But if you have modern style valves and keepers it is easier to remove the head
