Default 40 Pickup Lower Door Seal?

I want to replace the lower door seals on my Pickup. The channel on the right side is damaged. How is the channel attached?
I'm going to need to remove the channel to repair or replace it.
Seems like it would be easier to install the seal with the channel removed anyway.

Paul, If memory serves me, the channel is spot welded to the body. To remove the channel, you'd need to cut the spot welds.
Perhaps someone with a better memory will weigh in here if I am incorrect.

Again, only relying on my poor memory, I seem to recall the channels are reproduced. Spot facing the existing spot welds is easy. Welding the new channel on is just as easy. Perhaps four hours start to finish for each side.

At least now I know who to take it to.
All I have for welding is a gas torch and an A/C arc welder.

C&G has the channels. Their part # 7c-8120712-PR, $13 fir the pair. The rubber seals are #B-80230, $10 for the pair. They will save you a lot of time ($).

I am not a restorer - the stuff I build I drive them all over, across country and back, and they are far far from perfect. I love patina and the way they came and look from long years of use and abuse. You see my avatar

Now you know where I am coming from, and if your car is driver quality or worse, whatever channel that’s left to hang the rubber on, I have used rust inhibitor on what’s left to stop further rust (it turns rust black), then get some color on them close to what is on the truck, and use weatherstrip adhesive to hold the rubber in place within the channel. It is by no means perfect but serviceable and for the most part, no one will ever notice unless you tell them. Lol!

That’s my story and I am sticking to it ..... I can feel the cries and of many Fordbarners right for now but if you are building it to drive it, you have a lot more things to get right than door weatherstrip. You can always fix it later after you get used to the used mig welder you just bought ready to conquer the mysteries that go along with using it ....
