Re: 35 sedan,Pebble Beach & Dearborn awards
It's a very nice car. Interesting.
Is a dual carb car or 12v a dearborn winner? I don't know. Southern France? Almost as nice as Hawaii. https://www.pebblebeach.com/events/c...egance/photos/ . |

Does Caveat Emptor apply to false advertising?
Buyer should preserve the listing so the judge can read it and laugh him out of court: "You should have known better than to buy a Ford from a Chevy trader."

I'm with David, and "Graced the lawn at Pebble Beach" as what, a "Chase" car? That's the advertiser's tail, I'm sitting on mine....Sounds like the owner just finished cleaning his bull stall. And looking at the pictures confirmed it!!! |

Here's a partial list of issues:
Pin Stripe Wheel color Both rear view mirrors (inside and out) Head lights Seal beams?? Engine compartment!!!! Wrong engine and speed equipment Banjo Wheel and color Floor mat color Has 36 radio No locking spare tire cap RARE..Hardly....87,000 plus made in 35 model year. I thought you all would get a kick out of this.I asked the seller how he arrived at that price and if he could provide the award documentation .

Re: 35 sedan,Pebble Beach & Dearborn awards
I think the use of the word "steal" instead of "steel" says it all! Is it a nice car, yeah, is it a Dearborn car- hardly, is a tudor sedan rare, no, are cars with 12v systems and speed equipment point judged on the Concourse, not that I have ever seen.
What a misrepresentation. |

Re: 35 sedan,Pebble Beach & Dearborn awards
Appears to be a very nice car! Perhaps the "Day 2" options were added after the "Dearborn Award?" It would make a great touring car. I can see this car in "Touring or Touring A" class at an Early Ford V-8 Club meet. I would be interested at about half the asking price. Pat

Definitely a "sale proof" car. Like many of those on e-Bay lately.

Don,
I would add exterior color to your list, at least shade wise. As noted above, it might pass for something produced in the 1939-45 era without the gloss. |

Re: 35 sedan,Pebble Beach & Dearborn awards
EBAY has become a joke and a way for people to get cheap advertisement.
When you see $ 4000.00 grilles, $3000.00 dashbards, 3000.00 garnish moldings, etc. you know the ride is coming to an end. |

Re: 35 sedan,Pebble Beach & Dearborn awards
Unless Pebble Beach judges were V-8 Ford Club judges, I can almost understand how it was given an award. A Dearborn, no way. I can remember AACA HERSHEY back in the '70s when there were two hundred Model A's on the field. Some of those Model A's that had AACA, first place would not get a honorable mention if judged by MARC or MAFCA.

Re: 35 sedan,Pebble Beach & Dearborn awards
I have a feeling this car will be for sale on Ebay for a few years if the seller doesn't come back down to Earth.
Nice car, but you are talking roadster money for the price of this car; which I wouldn't hardly consider rare. Nice? From what we see, yes. BUT, I'd look this one over with a fine tooth comb and then make a reasonable offer of less than 1/2 of what he is asking. Edit: The seller is from NJ, so that explains a lot in regards to the asking price. LOL! |
