Default Trautwein Products Window Frames

Good morning all.

I'm looking for information on Trautwein Products located at 992 Turnpike Rd., Cambridge, NY 12816. Can anyone living in or near Cambridge tell me if this Company is still in business and if so possibly help me get in touch with them?

I am helping a friend restore a 1937 Ford Station Wagon and he needs an Upper Tailgate window frame, literature from Ed Clarke (a Woodie hardware supplier) recommends contacting Tom Trautwein and gives a phone number. I have called the number and reached an answering machine, after leaving requests for information on ordering a frame and my contact info I have not received a reply.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Ted

Thanks for the reply.

Yes sir, that is the number I have called.

From the limited info I can find they make the reproduction windshield frames that all the Parts Suppliers sell but unfortunately they do not have a web site.

You have to keep calling Walter to get him. If I remember right, he is split between two different mfg outfits.

The number I have for Walter is 518-636-9060. If that is no good, try his buddy Bud at 518-854-7839. Good luck : Bruce

Anyone know which suppliers sell his '32 windshields?? Direct contact seems pretty difficult, and I understand that it is because the outfit is focused on manufacture and wholesale.
Does Drake supply his?

Yes we do. As Tom often has trouble with chrome plating (who does'nt) we buy unplated ones and then have them plated here in Oregon or in Utah.

Ah. Good. Found one of those, have raggedy original deluxe and standard ones and will do some comparing.

Thanks again to all who replied.

I spoke with Tom yesterday and got the info on obtaining the frame, it should be on it's way shortly.

I guess persistence pays.

I live in the UK and hoping one of you guys can help me regarding a new windshield frame I purchased from 'Kenny's rod and custom'. I have stupidly lost the two 'L' shaped brackets that hold the frame together and the two trims for the corners of the frame. Does anybody know who makes the frames that Kenny sells to maybe enable me to get these parts?. I haven't spoken to Kenny and not sure he would tell me his manufacturer and wouldn't think its an item he stocks.
I know I can make the 'L' brackets but it's the corner pieces i'm having the problem with, I bought two vintique one's and true to course they don't fit the repro frame!!!.

Thanks for any help. Frank

Trautweins 1932 frames use the 1933-34 style corner trim beads.

Thanks Karl, I managed to speak to Kenny's today and they confirmed it is a Trautwein frame. They never told me it was a 33/34 corner trim though, now I know why the vintique ones don't fit!!!.

Do they sell the frames to customers or do you need to buy from supplier?

They will sell direct. Walter passed a couple of years ago and Tom is there by himself.
