Cool to compare to the side shot of the Parklane above.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
That is a neat looking wagon, complete with Crown Roof treatment, straightened chrome trim up front and 56/57 Lincoln Wheel Covers. Thanks for posting. |

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Another neat 1956 Ford Parklane Station Wagon. That unique trim piece on top of the rear fender is clearly visible in this last photo. These are great looking Two Door Wagons. |

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Here is a question for a Parklane expert. Did they come with the Fairlane type rear bumper with the exhaust outlets like this wagon does ? Or did the tailpipes come out on the side before the rear bumper like on the other wagons ?

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Here are pictures of the 1956 Ford Station Wagons from the original Sales Brochure. I believe that the exhaust exiting in the rear is not factory for the Station Wagons. None of these illustrations show the Exhaust exiting through the rear bumper. |

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Something to do with exhaust fumes getting sucked in the rear window on the wagons if the exhaust exited out the rear instead of the side. From what I've been told.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
I know the regular wagons and Ranch Wagons had the exhaust on the rear side. It would be nice if the brochure or old photos showed a rear view of the Parklane (original ones and not recent restored cars). If I had to guess, I would say the exhaust came out the side, and not through the bumper.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
Yes, the exhaust pipes came out at the sides behind the rear wheels, and never came out at the bumper tips as shown in the red/white Parklane.

Re: Two-Door Ford and Mercury Wagons
The center car in the bottom layer looks like it might be another 2 door Ranch Wagon.
