This seems to be a very long, mid-fifties Motor-Cycle parade. I don't know where. The Chevy, following the FORD does not seem to have a license plate. Playing at the local, single screen movie theatre is "Twelve Angry Men", starring Henry Fonda. CLICK ON PICTURE TO ENLARGE. MIKE

That is definately it. Thank you. When they closed (early sixties), I did not know they were closing and missed out. I even knew a fellow who worked in the parts dept. I had asked him earlier about Model "A" fenders, but he said "no". I think everything was just hauled to the dump. The big FORD arrow sign, someone picked out of their trash. I ended up with it. MIKE

In the early 70s I was working the Parts Dept in a small northern Michigan Ford dealership. There was more obsolete stuff in that place than there was current parts. Shoebox quarters and other 50s sheet metal, complete Model A windshields/frames, 50s & 60s vent window/frame assemblies, outside visors, flathead engine kits still in wooden shipping boxes, you get the picture. . .
Manager wanted all of it hauled to the dumpster. I grabbed some of it but called another buddy who came over & helped me clean in out - he took a heaping pickup load. Neither of us wanted any more, so the rest went in the dumpster. He offered $250 for all of it - the boss thought he was crazy for actually wanting to buy all of that 'junk'. Yeah, right. |
