My truck is nearing completion and I'm considering under coating it in the hope that it help preserve it for at least another 69 years, the first 69 were quite hard on it. Has anybody used any of the common after market ones. I'd be interested in what your experience with them has been. Any one brand or type better or worse?

The only problem with undercoating is moisture can get underneath it and be more damaging than not undercoating. If you are going to do it I would only do the undersides of the fenders to prevent "starring" from rocks.

I used bedliner materiel under the fenders to keep from road dents, really sticks to the metal/paint

If you're not going to run it in the winter on salted roads I won't do it.

I made the mistake of undercoating my new van only to find in later years some of it came loose allowing moisture to rust the frame in two in a couple of places. I would use POR or Rust-Oleum paint.

I would spray it will Wax Oyl.....it sets after a few hours and you can wash it off with petrol (gas) if needs be. It won't deter rocks but it sure does prevent rust.

I use Por 15 it prevents rust and is heavy enough to prevent some starring.

An easy way to prevent starring in the fenders is to remove them! Oh, what a minute, that would make it a hot rod!
