Stripped shifter knob on 39
My shifter knob on my 39 is stripped. It appears to have a black insert that looks like a nut. Anybody have an idea on how to either repair it or replace the black insert. I have thought about jb weld to reform threads. Maybe a helicoil but into plastic?
Thanks Mike |

Re: Stripped shifter knob on 39
heli coil will work good, the nut that screws onto the shift lever is in plastic, just make sure you have enough room to install the heli coil, use super glue or lock tight on the heli coil threads to stop it from unscrewing

Is it possible to change plastic nut to metal. I am guessing knob is cast to it.
