An overall view of the car would maybe more revealing. I can not see anything Model T ; the firewall appears to be '28 '29 A plus floor risers in the front footwell.. It could be local made bodywork.
Most of the cars in this area ended up being shipped back to Japan during War, but Fords were certainly sold there new.

Tudortomnz -
Sorry, can't oblige anyone with a full view of the car, space limitations in garage. Although I just now got some pics from underneath.
If by local made bodywork you mean that the entire body was fabricated out of scratch, i wouldn't think so. Absolutely possible to have modified the original body to make things fit, like transplanting an A engine and tranny, etc.. Not saying that's what was done of course, still in the investigative process of identifying this car.
I did just now take some pics underneath. I will try to (hopefully ??) post multiple shots in one post. And as I said in a previous post, my apologies for some of the poor pics, bad lighting and a bad cellphone camera.

Last batch for now (its past dinner time over here). I will add text to each batch of pics tomorrow.

The 16-inch wheels i understand are from some Ford from the middle 1930`s (??). I hope to receive our A engine parts sometime January next year, so in the meantime, i`m thinking of checking out the brakes. Anyone have any idea what brakes are on our car ? In the meantime, i will go check online for brakes/wheels from the 30`s.

Yep, the usual trick of putting 26 or 27 Model T on a 30-31 chassis. I am planning one of those except with a 26 roadster body

So just to be crystal clear, your both saying that the pics I sent, show everything underneath to be a 30 or 31 Model A ? And that the 16 - inch wheels conveniently fit the Model A drums ?

bgarrett - So putting a T body on an A chassis was common practice for somebody so inclined ? Was it easy to do ? May I ask you to expound on this ?

Your wheels look like '35 Ford. Please confirm that they have 16 inch tires. They bolt right on from 1928 to 1935 (with the exception of the early '28 drums). I like to use the '32 four cylinder hubcaps with those wheels.

My scenario: the old model T broke down & was superseded by a newer Model A Ford. The good T body was removed so the chassis could be used as a farm trailer/wagon. Alas two weeks later a garage roof truss, overloaded by too much junk, gave way onto the A. Now since he had a usable chassis and a passable T body, Why not make lemonade of lemons?

This is intriguing. Based on '28 '29 Patrickt, not '30'31.
Looks to have local made bits on it. No problem to your local fabricators, as they have been making up Jeepney'/Jeep replicas for decades.
Possible to get a pic of a door or front cowl?
Thanks for all the pics.
Cheers.

Hotrodfil - That is a handsome Touring T - A. Thanks for posting. Maybe we can call it a "Ford Model T super" instead ☺.

J Franklin -
one lemonade please. But seriously, I get your point. It is in fact sentimental to me, because my dad bought it off his third cousin like decades ago, and it was my everyday car when I was in my thirties. Thanks !

Tudortomnz-
May I ask what your basis was for it being based on the 28-29 A, instead of the later one ? I assume you were referring only to the chassis ? You are right about the jeep-ney fabricators, and that's with no real special tools on hand. I did post maybe several pics of doors and latches earlier on in this thread (the one with only a single pic / post, since I just learned how to post 7 pics / post last night. I will get some more of the doors sometime today. And thanks for responding.

Everyone - I will try to get one wheel off to check out the drum and open it up, which might be difficult, given its been sitting in an open air garage for about 20 years now in this tropical climate.

I like it, it was done well. Give it a good cleaning, oil its joints, and a bit of love and enjoy a fun tour.
