Re: Ford Model A Klaxon horn
G'day Ian
That horn appears to be a modern era repro horn, not Model A horn. It may be 12v. The horn on your '32 will be the same as the A, except for the motor cover. Cheers Tom in NZ. |

Re: Ford Model A Klaxon horn
Hi Tom & Ian,
They were very common here in the 70's and cost approximately $20. They were made by Hutchins. I have an original '32 sparton motor cover, if you need one Ian.

Re: Ford Model A Klaxon horn
Hi Tom & Bick Thanks for the information. I have just now bought a original Model A Sparton horn on Trade me as the one on the 32 sounds a bit sick. the trouble is a lot of these horns have originally been run on 12 volts which does not help them.so I want to and replace it with another one with improvements. That Hutchins horn has just came up for sale on Trademe.

love your signature Bick. I quote it from time to time. today I scored some discarded carpet I need to place under Woofa Express. the person discarding it asked what I'd want it for and I quoted your signature. cheers, gary

Re: Ford Model A Klaxon horn
Ian, I just had a thought that the base plate on the '32 Sparton is different to the Model A, to accommodate the '32 cover. Someone with more knowledge of this will hopefully chime in with the facts.

Re: Ford Model A Klaxon horn
The 1932 cover fits straight on but base plate which takes the 32 mounting bracket is different so the six holes with the bolts that clamp everything together have to be rearranged thats what I had to do to the Model A Sparton horn I have on the 32.
