Default Fuel Tank

This may seem like a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyawy. Should gas flow freely from the tank of my forty pickup when I disconnect the fuel line close to it? (8 to 10") I've had reocurring fuel problems and noticed that there was little or no fuel flow from the tank while installing an electric fuel. Any input would be appreciated. Dave

Yes, and if not there is no air getting into the tank. Check your vent.

If you have a full tank gas could come out if stock tank
.I put my electric pump up inside frame about behind wheel.
The line that goes in tank should go in about 4 "

The pump should be as close to the tank as possible.

If the fuel level is below the fitting on the tank it won't flow.
If above it will.

40Dave, There may be a build up of crud, etc around the gas tank fitting that is preventing sufficient flow of gas at the fuel line exit. After you remove the line clean out the opening and see if flow improves.
