Default Early Ford V8 meet, Lake Tahoe,Ca.

I am going to the Lake Tahoe meet in the third week of June and would like to thank and talk to some Barners that have helped me with my '35 5 window coupe. However I know most only by their Barn Handle and do not know their names....could we come up with something that would identify a Barner at the show? Since we are all very attractive and have incredible intelligence that will not work as we need some kind of visual reference.....any ideas?......thanks,....Matt in Alameda

Maybe someone could develop a nice name tag that we could down load and use.

How about a "T" shirt printed with your barn name, on it, say a light blue ( FORD ) color.
My name tag / ID for the meet, is the same as my fordbarn name .... OLD....BILL

Hi Everyone, Great idea.

I think I'm rooming with JM35 at Harrah's.

Our regional group will have a flathead engine there so we can sell raffle tickets for the 2014 Eastern National Meet in Gettysburg. Maybe we can make the engine sort of a gathering point for 'Barners? I'll be manning the engine for at least some of the time. <EDIT: Not the truth. Unintentional.>

Jeff, When did we decide to take the engine?? It is my understanding that there will be a booth with a video of the engine.

I don't know where you will display that engine if you did not make prior arrangements.

I grew up at the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. For those that have never been to Tahoe, you will be amazed at the beautiful scenery.

I can't attend (I'm working on the 49er's new stadium in Santa Clara), but if someone can post the location, I'd like to let my father know where the actual location for the Concours judging will be held on June 19th.

To all;

Yes, go to Virginia City. It is an old Silver mining town that has a lot of the original buildings. It is a little tacky/touristy, but if you enjoy things like getting a copy of an old newspaper printed with you as a Villan featured in the headline, or dressing up in period correct clothing that they lend you before taking an old time photo of you and your significant other dressed up as a saloon girl, then you will enjoy your visit.

Be sure to visit the museum and the Bucket of Blood Saloon if it is still there.

For those not going over the hill to Virginia City, take a tour all the way around the lake and be sure to see Emerald Bay and the island with a tea room in the bay. Lots of great restaurants around the lake.

Also drive over to the nearby Zephyr Cove and take a cruise on one of the paddle wheeler boats, the MS Dixie II or the Tahoe Queen.

And, if you are playing the slots, they no longer take coins, just insert your credit card and be aware that the cocktail waitress that you see around the slots will give you free drinks, just be sure to give her a tip.

Trivia - Lake Tahoe is very deep and if California was flat, the lake contains enough water to cover the entire surface area of California in 14" of water.
