Default flathead mechanic

HI to all
I have a 52 Crestline Vic that needs some attention. Fuel pump and carb have been rebuilt. Car runs rough and has a hesitation which I can't figure out. I'm looking for a mechanic that has plenty of experience with flathead V8's. I live in Middlesex county Massachusetts. If there is someone out there in my area that has the expertise, I would like to hear from him. I can be contacted through my email address: [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration. Ron

Sounds like ignition or fuel issue i.e plugs, plug wires, distributer, timing, ign advance/condenser, coil, fuel line or a host of other possibilities. Two choices I know are retired Ken Isidor in CT over at Early Ford V8 Club site in classified selling ignition and carb parts, or contact Charlie NY in LI, a well respect member of this site who does both.

Do you belong to the local club? It's a good place to make connections. Try calling Joe's antique auto in Uxbridge and see if he knows anyone local. I know there are a few.

Guys,
I'm the guy that rebuilt Ron's carb and pump. Ron sent both back to me
for a double check.....both performed 100% on my test motor. I especially put the

carb 'under the hot lights' to be sure I did not miss something. Ron and I have been

patient thru this but the miles between us makes things difficult to say the least.
My two cents now is try a set of Autolite 437 plugs.

If Charlie rebuilt the carb, it's 100% not the carb. He's the best.

I'm for giving Joe a call as well. He's a wealth of info and he and his staff are great people as well.

The first thing you should do when you have one of these un-known problems is: to take a compression test to make sure everything inside iz working oK

I finally got the 52 back. I think Charlie's suggestion of the Autolite plugs may have helped a lot eventhough my mechanic may not admit it. But thanks to all including Charlie,NY and Lou Bousquet for all your inputs. Sincerely Ron
