Default PowerMaster alt question

Hi folks

My 6v pos ground alt pulley is not perfectly aligned with my water pump pulleys.
Are these two threaded holes made to adjust that?

I’ve gone through 2 belts on my 39 coupe.

If unknown I’ll call Powermaster on Monday.

They are for mounting the fan in a 42-48, you need the earlier version generator ---- or change to later intake manifold

All I can say is I bought the powermaster for a 46 what they sent was one for a 49 up
8BA no way belts are way off. Big bucks and I had to send it back and do the waiting
game. Curious, do you know exactly what engine you have? because so many were
replaced with who knows what during the war...

adileo, is your fan crank mounted? I maybe all wet here, but the issue could be your alternator bracket? I had a 59AB in my '39 with 6 volt alternator and Off. 4 barrel manifold and everything lined up perfectly. It's your 59EAB that I'm not familiar with.

Good luck....Dick.

Andy,
I kid you not, I just ran into almost the same issue....'39 coupe with a '46 generator
with fan mount bracket (same bracket as yours ) I happened to have a '39 bracket

pt # 78 - 10139 . I swapped the bracket and all was well. The 78 prefix tells us the bracket was introduced in '37 and replaced in '40 by 01A - 10139. I'll dig thru my stash
and see if I can find another. It is swap meet season so be on the lookout. The pt#
on the 78 bracket is cast into the scallop on the fork. Be aware the air holes in the 78 bracket are at 12 , 3 , 6 and 9.
How's the coupe running ?

The fan is crank mounted.

Hi Charlie thanks. Coupe is running great - your carb work still top shelf!

I don’t think I can Change the bracket (see pic). I’m trying think of a way to shim out. I have washers but then alt is not locked in along groves.

Not sure how much shim you need in this application, but I have machined a shim with the required shape to match both the intake manifold and generator bracket in other setups.

Jerry

Thanks that would be the ideal solution. But I don’t have the equipment, knowledge or skill. Friend made a suggestion to pull the pulley off the alt and add spaced washer. It worked all good now.

Andy, love it when the solution is as simple as a washer!! Can see now that your bracket is part of the PowerMaster. Good thinking!!!
