I've spent several hours on the latch over the weekend. No fix az yet.

I haven't figured out which way is up on the disc Also the handle fits for different ways. (And watch out for your fingers.)

I see no scrape marks on the forward bent steel latch bar. I'm afraid to see if the radiator cap is touching the hood...

Be safe

Part of this effort was to install a radiator shroud. I has to raise the radiator 1/2" to clear the fan...

continue to try and fail. Help please.
when the hood is closed and unlocked, which way does the hood ornament point? I'm thinking toward the drivers side.

YAHOO!!! The radiator cap does not touch the hood. I don't have to redo the radiator installation. Now that is a load off me. I must now figure out how the disc in the latch mech is mounted. PROGRESS!!!

I finally got the latch back together. It does not lock down. It does not catch the bar on the radiator front. The big nut underneath seem to only tighten the movement of the handle, correct? Can I raise that bar. (before my problem the attach worked fine. Remember we stood up the radiator closer to vertical. Maybe the latch hits something?? The hood has a steel rod stake to hold the hood up. There ae no springs on the hood (missing
