Re: Carb spacer
Wood is an excellent insulator, the spacer has to be coated with a finish that is resistant to gasoline. I made one once and it worked great.

Re: Carb spacer
I have an aluminum carb spacer on my 40. it is two pieces of aluminum with some type of insulator in the middle. Bought it at Hersey in 2015. Dennis Carpenter says they are good. Anyway if the carburator is usually a 100 degrees cooler than the manifold.

Re: Carb spacer
Bob Shewman 1-610-933-6636 makes the best carb insulator.
His is black phenolic material and has vent holes drilled through it for better cooling. G.M.

Re: Carb spacer
Does any one know the trade offs and pros/cons of a spacer which maintains the two barrel isolation vs one which combines the 2 holes into one?
