Default parking brake sets itself 1935 coupe

I redid a lot of the brake system, (shoes, brass bushings, springs, added floaters) a little over a year ago, Everything works great Except last year I noticed once in a while the parking brake would click one click when backing down my driveway. This year it will set itself almost every other time I hit the brake I hear a click and have to release the brake again. The brake handle does move when I hit the brake. What could be wrong something out of adjustment? a spring missing? Using a shop manual for 32 36 does show how I have it. Thanks

the rod on the emergency brake is too tight, there is enough clearance in the loop end of the rod for this not to happen

At the brake cross shaft, the linkage rod from the hand brake has an oblong hole. This is to allow the brake cross shaft to move with the brake pedal and not move the hand brake. If dirt or rust or if the pin in the oblong hole become tight the foot brake pedal will move the hand brake. The linkage rod on the hand brake has to move freely on the pin holding the rod to the cross shaft.
